Greg Merema grew up in the city of Rochelle, Illinois. From an early age, he was very energetic and he watched a lot of cartoons, anime and played lots of video games. As he grew, his fascination for cartoons, video games, and animation grew as well. The idea of displaying a sequence of images in rapid succession to create the illusion of movement astounded him. Taking that a step further and incorporating the third dimension filled him with awe and amazement. At that moment, he decided that he wanted to work with 2D and 3D animation. He began drawing many pictures and, as soon as he could, started taking art classes and lessons. In high school, he participated in art and theater to express his energy and passion. He came across the Time Arts program Northern Illinois University offered while he was looking for a college to attend. This area was the perfect place to help him explore and learn more about animation, as well as the second and third dimensions. By using recent technology, Greg displays his thoughts, feelings, and his learning experiences through art. People will always learn something new and that is something to look forward to in the future. With live streaming and creating content that can be uploaded to social media, Greg is able to share is passions even faster than ever.
